Interior Stylist / Visual Merchandiser - Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

INTERIOR STYLIST/ VISUAL MERCHANDISER

£20 – 35k, dependant on experience

Are you an experienced interior stylist or visual merchandiser looking for a new opportunity to work in a market leading, family-run business?

ROMO, a leading privately owned textile and wallcovering design house requires an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our creative marketing team to work as an in-house stylist responsible for designing and implementing visual displays for our International showrooms, exhibitions and launch events.

Family run since 1902, The Romo Group specialises in the supply of furnishing fabrics and wallcoverings to both the domestic and contract markets. Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Working in collaboration with Creative Directors and Brand Managers to interpret and visually communicate our fabric and wallcovering brands, showcasing our collections to the highest standard
  • Designing, planning & styling of exhibition stands & showrooms displays
  • Assisting on planning, production and styling of in-house photoshoots
  • Sourcing furniture and props
  • Managing budgets and timescales
  • Using visual merchandising skills to update showroom product libraries
  • Working with Creative Marketing department to produce effective in-store branding

Conducting research on current and future trends in design and lifestyle.

To be successful in this role The Romo Group are seeking candidates who are highly creative and innovative with a passion for interiors and design. Candidates will possess exceptional creative design & styling skills and have a strong visual sense with meticulous attention to detail. They should be highly motivated and commercially focussed with a proven ability to plan and deliver effectively.

Candidates should be educated to a degree level in Interior design or other relevant subject with proven styling experience in Interiors, Window dressing, Merchandising or a similar creative role.

Candidates will also need to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, both on their own or as part of a team. They must have flexibility with their work approach and demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.

Are you an enthusiastic and outgoing individual looking to gain PR and Marketing experience in a creative, design-led industry?

ROMO, a leading privately owned textile and wallcovering design house has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our PR & Marketing team as a paid intern for a period of 6 months. Successful candidates will proactively offer general administrative support collaborating with the team to design and deliver innovative PR solutions to raise the profile of Romo brands.

Based in our London Chelsea Wharf Offices, the busy PR and Marketing team support the business by handling all UK and International press enquiries as well as actively promoting our new and current fabric and wallcovering collections to industry professionals, journalists and the end consumer.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Supporting and responding to marketing & PR related requests and enquires, including designing and delivering responses to journalist requests
  • Researching new press and media opportunities and updating our database accordingly
  • Monitoring and reporting on press coverage to analyse effectiveness and breadth
  • Creating interesting and engaging content for social media platforms
  • Ensuring brand websites are kept up to date by editing and maintaining content
  • Supporting and developing internal communication documents
  • Working in collaboration with the Marketing team to develop material for external use
  • General administrative duties to help with the smooth running of the marking office

Skills and Experience:

  • Great communication skills, with outstanding English language, written and spoken
  • Be highly organised in managing own workload
  • Proactive and detail orientated with a flexible attitude
  • Have successfully obtained a Degree in a related field
  • IT competent with the ability to use Microsoft Office: Word & Excel
  • Experience of using Adobe: Photoshop & In Design is desirable but not essential

Key responsibilities include working with interior designers to offer suitable fabric and wallcovering solutions for a wide variety of design projects, as well as every aspect of customer service, including answering phones, processing orders, and sample room inventory.

In this full-time position, you will provide critical support to the showroom sales staff, manager and clients. Your primary responsibility will be to professionally run the memo room for the New York showroom, processing memo requests, memo returns and replenishment orders while maintaining a well organized inventory of memo samples.

Additionally, you will ensure clients are greeted warmly and assisted in a timely manner; you will answer incoming phone calls and assist with special events and projects as well as a performing a variety of administrative support and house keeping duties.
