Graphic Designer - Romo Fabrics, Nottinghamshire, UK.

Salary: 20 – 30k, dependent on experience. Full-time position.

An exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual looking for a varied graphic design role, ROMO requires a creative & versatile graphic designer to join the in-house marketing team based at our head-office in Nottinghamshire.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong creative flair, good attention to detail, an excellent eye for colour and the ability to problem solve & creatively present your ideas, developing them through from concept to finished article.

Main Responsibilities:

Under the direction of our Creative Marketing Director and working closely with our in-house design studios and existing marketing team, you will be required to work on a wide variety of design tasks including:

  • Design & layout of stationery items, sales literature and digital presentations.
  • Cleaning & colour correcting of product images – an exceptional eye for colour & detail is essential.
  • Graphic layouts for e-marketing campaigns.
  • Concepts & design ideas for promotional marketing material to compliment each fabric launch.
  • Creative input on the look of our brand websites. You will see your designs realised online by working closely with our I.T. department.

Skills and Experience:

  • Graphic Design BA (Hons) graduate
  • Minimum 2 years experience in all areas of graphic design including colour retouching.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign & Photoshop, plus Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / Powerpoint)
  • Exceptional eye for colour.
  • Creative flair, originality and strong visual sense.
  • Strong attention to detail & a high-level of accuracy.
  • Able to problem solve & think creatively to create design solutions for print & web.
  • Good written & spoken English.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work well under pressure and to strict working deadlines.
  • Good team-working skills.

London Showroom Assistant 

Romo is looking for an enthusiastic and confident Showroom Assistant to work part time in our flagship showroom in the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, London.

The successful candidate must have a positive “can do” attitude with excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable and polite manner. Exceptional customer service and the ability to develop relationships with clients is vital to this role.

As a leading textiles showroom we are looking for someone who possesses a passion for interiors and textiles and a creative eye with attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be well presented and able to work as a member of a busy pro-active team and happy to use their initiative when required.

Main responsibilities will include:
• Assist clients in their selection of products for use in interior schemes, understanding their needs and requirements
• Day to day running of the showroom, ensuring it is well maintained at all times
• Dealing promptly with customer enquiries and processing orders
• Help manage our sample library
• Form and maintain relationships with clients and be a friendly and helpful point of contact for all Showroom users

Working Hours are Monday and Tuesday 9am to 5.30pm at a competitive salary.

Export Sales Administrator – The Romo Group, Nottinghamshire, UK

A vacancy is available within our Export Department, based in Nottinghamshire for the position of Export Sales Administrator.

The role is to provide full administrative and sales support to our overseas agents, distributors and customers. This involves dealing with a wide variety of customer enquiries, order processing, quotations, despatch, translation work and all aspects of customer service.

The essential requirement for this position is fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) plus one other language. (Knowledge of Russian would be a great advantage.)  If English is not mother tongue it must be near native. Previous experience in a Customer Service role would be ideal and whilst knowledge of export sales administration would be beneficial, it is not essential, as full training will be given.

The role requires a professional and customer focused attitude with the ability to effectively resolve customer queries using initiative. The Export Department is a fast moving environment requiring excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Textile Designer - Nottinghamshire, UK


The Romo Group is a leading privately owned design house specialising in the supply of furnishing fabrics and wallcoverings to both the domestic and contract markets.
Due to an expansion of our brand portfolio we are looking to recruit an exceptionally talented and creative individual with an understanding of the high-end contract arena to work in a new studio under the direct supervision of the Romo Design Director. The role will involve creating and developing new collections specifically for the contract market from initial concepts through to launch.
Main responsibilities:-
• Undertaking research to determine market trends
• Creating original designs which are to be used over a variety of applications within the interiors contract market.
• Liaising with suppliers to comment on trials and developments throughout the design and development process.
• Organising testing of products to all relevant standards.
• Involvement in pattern book design and development of marketing materials.
• Travelling internationally to trade exhibitions and to suppliers.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Textile Design, strong drawing and CAD skills, an excellent sense of colour and have a good understanding of printing/weaving techniques and repeats. They must also possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work to deadlines.

Experienced Web Developer required to join our enthusiastic in-house I.T. team. - Nottinghamshire, UK

Established since 1902, Romo is a progressive and mature company, distributing home furnishing fabrics worldwide. Many aspects of the business rely on our Linux based systems, developed and supported in-house.

A motivated, flexible and team-orientated web developer is required to expand the small team responsible for the development and support of all I.T. related functions. Candidates will have a strong knowledge of Object-Oriented PHP, CSS & Javascript. Experience with the Yii PHP framework would be advantageous.  The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive and possess good communication and time-management skills.
